Why This Day Is Special?

World Bicycle Day is celebrated every year on June 3 to promote the benefits of cycling. Cycling is a fun and healthy activity that helps keep our bodies fit and our environment clean. It's a simple, affordable, and eco-friendly way to travel short distances, reduce pollution, and stay active

History Behind the Day

In April 2018, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 3 as World Bicycle Day. This decision was made to recognize the uniqueness, longevity, and versatility of the bicycle, which has been in use for over two centuries. The idea was proposed by Professor Leszek Sibilski, who led a campaign to promote the resolution, gaining support from Turkmenistan and 56 other countries.
